Hand Over ceremony

If the hand-over ceremony was to be described in a few words, it would win the title of being ‘full of pride’. Having the previous head of a department hand over their position to you, along with its responsibilities and hard work, makes you feel truly triumphant. During the hand-over ceremony, our principal, Mr. Smooker along with our SLC, AQC, and heads of departments, celebrated our success and gave us recognition for our work by holding us accountable for completing the theme of this year. The head of the Lower School department, Karina Denisova, along with the ex-head of the SLO, Naziha Alsam, stayed for an extra hour after school to design and create the SLO's own walk of fame stars that were given to us as the new heads of the SLO. The stars of the head of the SLO, Academics, Discipline, Management, Sports and Health, Activities, Outreach, Lower School, and Social Responsibility departments were handed to Safa Al Shabibi, Omar Darras, Sara Joudeh, Sharif Fatourehchi, Ahmad Amin, Mariam Mahmoud, Besma Tabla, Karina Denisova, and I, Fay Oueini respectively. After our stars were handed out to us, all the prefects gathered around the table and cut the cake, hand in hand, as a promise to work as a team and make this ‘Year of Accountability’ bloom.
